Ibanez SR505N Bass Guitar 5 String, Midnight Arctic Ocean Matte

Slim SR neck feel
The heart of the SR505N is its famously slim SR neck, built from five pieces of roasted maple and walnut for strength and stability. The roasting process improves resistance to humidity and temperature changes, helping the neck stay consistent over time. Its smooth satin finish and slim profile make fast passages, position shifts and extended sessions feel effortless, ideal for players who value comfort and speed. Combined with the balanced body shape, the neck encourages a relaxed playing position that reduces fatigue and keeps your focus on the music.
Nordstrand Big Break pickups
Loaded with Nordstrand Big Break pickups, the SR505N delivers a bold and modern bass voice. These pickups pack a split-coil design into a soapbar format, offering powerful lows, defined mids and clear highs without unwanted noise. The result is a tone that cuts through a mix while still retaining detail and warmth. Whether you’re playing fingerstyle, slapping or using a pick, the Big Break pickups respond dynamically to your touch.
Versatile active and passive tones
The Ibanez Custom Electronics three-band EQ is designed to be intuitive and musical, giving you quick control without overcomplicating things. A three-way mid-frequency switch lets you shape the mids to suit different styles and mixes, while the EQ bypass switch instantly takes you into passive mode. In passive operation, the treble control becomes a traditional tone knob, making it easy to dial in classic sounds alongside modern active tones.
The okoume body keeps the SR505N lightweight and well balanced, making it ideal for long rehearsals and gigs. Its contoured shape hugs the body, helping the bass sit naturally whether standing or seated. The MR5S bridge allows for adjustable string spacing, letting you fine-tune the feel to suit your playing style. Finished in Midnight Arctic Ocean Matte, the bass looks understated and modern while remaining practical and stage ready.
