The pipes are made from an aluminium alloy with a complex cross section - taken from the original HexRack. This combination of design and material produces a much lighter weight while greatly improving the strength and durability of the rack.

For how strong the Yamaha HexRack is, it is astonishingly light. Using a special aluminium alloy, the HexRack features a six-sided, slotted rail which offers an optimum balance of light weight and strength. These rails are the pinnacle of rigidity and weight and resist warping and compression.
