It also features the newly developed STAR Tube Lugs w/lug nuts for articulate tuning. Supersensitive Hi-Carbon Snare Wires for concert models complete the package, featuring a thin brass plate and softer hi-carbon coils that respond to even the softest touch on the edge of the batter head.

The Big Black Steel snare drum is designed to deliver all the “heavy” and “loud” a player could ever need. Eight inches deep and dressed in matte black, the Big Black Steel is a powerhouse. Tama’s decades of experience as builders of great steel snares is embodied by this addition to the S.L.P. line. The LST148’s steel shell is 1 mm while its counterpart Mighty Hoop measures 2.3 mm of solid steel. The 20-strand Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Steel Snappy snares delivers the perfect amount of crack to this full-bodied drum.
