The hybrid spruce/maple shell delivers rich mids and articulate highs, while Peter's own original idea-
a Sound Focus Ring on the batter side only-creates crisp attack and a clearly defined, open tone. The
compact 10" diameter enhances articulation without sacrificing tonal depth.
The Star-Cast Mounting System allows the shell to resonate freely and offers exceptional setup
flexibility. Its small size makes positioning easy in a variety of configurations.

The Big Black Steel snare drum is designed to deliver all the “heavy” and “loud” a player could ever need. Eight inches deep and dressed in matte black, the Big Black Steel is a powerhouse. Tama’s decades of experience as builders of great steel snares is embodied by this addition to the S.L.P. line. The LST148’s steel shell is 1 mm while its counterpart Mighty Hoop measures 2.3 mm of solid steel. The 20-strand Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Steel Snappy snares delivers the perfect amount of crack to this full-bodied drum.
