Beastly Ibanez body
Peerless design. The Ibanez RG550 Genesis’ body is crafted from basswood to produce fat, balanced tones. More importantly, the stylish double cutaway shape offers you unhindered access to the higher frets. You can dance all the way to the top of the 24-fret fingerboard with nothing to slow you down. In the same vein, Ibanez have made sure that each contour is ergonomically sculpted to give you maximum comfort when playing, and the waist cut shape does exactly this. Speaking of comfort, you’ll adore the smooth feel of the
Super Wizard shaped neck for magic riffs
Unleash your potential. The RG550 features a 5pc maple/walnut neck that’s fast, sturdy and a dream to play on. It’s shaped in Ibanez’s Super Wizard profile, meaning it’s incredibly thin and destined to shred. You’ll find it effortless to wrap your hand around, making chords a breeze and the most complex licks simple.
Because Ibanez know you’re going to play with ferocity, they’ve prepared the neck to withstand anything. Five layers of maple and walnut result in a neck that’s going to shrug off warping and endure rowdy sets without breaking a sweat. Don’t hold back the thrash, it’s in this Ibanez’s DNA.
HSH Pickups
A deadly trio. Three incredibly powerful Ibanez pickups are yours to command. With the V8 bridge humbucker, middle position S1 single coil and neck focused V7 humbucker there’s no limit to your tones. Fiery, aggressive cut fire out of the bridge while the neck voices warm, thick punch suited to rhythms and single note leads. And for the clink and twang of single coil, switch over to the mid position for those sparkling harmonics.
Tremble with a tremolo
Exciting, daring and adventurous. That’s what the locking tremolo system on the RG550 will let you be. There’s no end to the sonic acrobatics you can perform because this beast boasts a Top-Lok III nut, meaning you can abuse the whammy bar throughout the whole set without your tuning slipping. Add another dimension to your playing without fear, because your sound will stay rock solid while you slay those exhilarating vibratos.
Visuals that stand out on stage
You are guaranteed to have all eyes, and ears, on you when you are rocking on stage with the RG550’s vibrant finish. The body has an eye-catching Electric Blue finish, and a matching headstock. Topped off with a contrasting black pickguard and black hardware, the aesthetics of the Ibanez RG550 will certainly stand out.
