The optimised transmission design precisely positions and aligns the contact point between the cam, direct link, and foot-board, achieving the perfect overall balance of power, speed, and feel.

In order to convert motion force from foot-board to cam, Tama developed a study double-link cam connection system which holds the rotation axis bearings equally from both sides producing almost perfect energy transfer from the foot-board to the cam – therefore creating tremendous reaction speed and power.

While super complex and technical playing can wow audiences, sometimes a simpler and stripped down approach is even more moving. Sometimes, eliminating everything but the most essential can produce greater creativity and boosts interaction between players and audiences. A similar relationship exists between players and their instruments. Very simple instruments and setups can often conversely stimulate the creativity of players.

The Classic Pedal is just that – a drum pedal taking a sophisticated path to simplicity, to stimulate joy and creativity from its player.

Over the years, one of the greatest challenges facing drum pedal manufacturers has been to provide a pedal that “does it all”. Or at the very least, focuses on the most critical features that drummers absolutely demand to enhance their performance. A difficult task, by any means. By today’s standards the two most important features desired are speed and power. With most pedals, if you adjust the playability to address speed, you can sometimes lose power. And if you focus primarily on the feeling of power, you sometimes lose the desired speed. Now, the rules have changed.
