The Yamaha CPX900 has a slightly smaller body than a full-size jumbo. That makes it much easier to handle, but due to clever design and the use of quality materials, it still delivers dynamics and tone. The handsomely crafted guitar features a solid spruce top and the back and sides are made of beautiful flamed maple, a wood known for its punchily, precisely articulated tone and a smooth bass performance. Cosmetics include striped ebony bridge and fingerboard with pearl/abalone diamond markers with a double chevron flash at the octave, gold plated tuners, and double abalone ring sound hole rosette.

The CPX900’s sophisticated onboard electronics feature the incredible 3-way A.R.T system with a dual sensor arrangement under the bridge plus sensors specifically tuned for HF and LF response under the treble and bass sides of the bridge. The advanced System 57 preamp features a luxurious brushed gold finish, on-board chromatic tuner, 3-band EQ, master volume and individual gain controls for the bass and treble sub pickups. The ability to adjust the gain of specific bass and treble pickups allows accurate shaping of the Yamaha CPX900’s tone without the use of EQ and removes the possibility of the phase inaccuracies and artifacts produced by even the finest EQ circuits. With all these features the Yamaha CPX900 has the ability to deliver some of the purest acoustic guitar tones imaginable.
