Traditional Lauan wood shells
Since its introduction in the 1960s, lauan has been altered and improved to provide a throwback, vintage sound. Lauan comes from the lauan tree in Southeast Asia, and became infamous for making cheap drums with little to no credit. The reality of Lauan, however, is far from that of a cheap tonewood. It produces an immersive, warm response with a medium-short decay, sitting perfectly in the mix. And when paired with other vintage components, lauan shells offer a solid foundation for any rhythm section.

Brooklyn, New York and Gretsch Drums are deeply rooted in history. Since 2012 the Brooklyn series has breathed new life into the unmistakeable sound created in Brooklyn back in 1883 - the modern version of "That Great Gretsch Sound". A classic warm and full sound, while being more open and maintaining significant punch. 6-ply maple/poplar shells with a 30 bearing edge, Gretsch 'Silver Sealer' inner shell alloy and '302' hoops are the basis for a very individual sound character.
